APHI Exam

The Accredited Professional Home Inspector (APHI)™ designation is reserved for highly experienced inspectors who demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence in the inspection industry. To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following pathways:

Option 1

  • A minimum of 10 consecutive and verifiable years of membership in FABI, ASHI, or InterNACHI;
  • Completion of at least 500 standard home inspections.  

Option 2

  • FABI member in good standing for less than 10 years who qualifies for Registered Professional Inspector (RPI) status;
  • Holds a Florida Home Inspector license for at least 10 years;
  • Has completed 1,500 full home inspections. 

Option 3

  • A minimum of 3 years as a Florida-based home inspector and FABI member
  • Additionally, must meet one of the following:
  1. At least 7 additional years as a member of ASHI or InterNACHI
  2. Completion of 1,500 full home inspections  
In addition, all applicants must:
  • Pass the APHI Exam. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam. A minimum score of 90 is required to pass. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you may take the exam one additional time. If both attempts are unsuccessful, you must wait 30 days before trying again.
